At Eastman, he performs four concerts each semester with the Eastman Wind Orchestra and the Eastman School Symphony Orchestra, in which he has had experience playing principal oboe, second oboe, and English horn. He also plays in a wind quintet and has played with the Eastman Repertory Singers, Eastman/Rochester Chorus (with the ESSO), and Ossia (Eastman’s student-run new music ensemble). Cry-Baby-web

Book by Thomas Meehan Mark O'Donnell

Music and Lyrics by Adam Schlesinger David Javerbaum

Based on the Universal Pictures film written and directed by John Waters

This jumping, jiving Tony nominee is a rebellious teen comedy event! Based on the cult classic, 1990 John Watersfilm, Cry-Baby features a delightfully demented book from the writers of Hairspray and a rockabilly score from the co-founder of Fountains of Wayne and the executive producer of "The Daily Show."

It's 1954. Everyone likes Ike, nobody likes communism and Wade "Cry-Baby" Walker is the coolest boy in Baltimore. He's a bad boy with a good cause – truth, justice and the pursuit of rock and roll. Cry-Baby and the square rich girl, Allison, are star-crossed lovers at the center of this world. Fueled by hormones and the new rhythms of rock and roll, she turns her back on her squeaky clean boyfriend, Baldwin, to become a "drape" (a Baltimore juvenile delinquent) and Cry-Baby's moll. At the other end of the topsy-turvy moral meritocracy of 1954 America, Baldwin is the king of the squares and leads his close-harmony pals against the juvenile delinquents, who are ultimately arrested for arson, sending the drapes all off to prison. It's Romeo and Juliet meets High School Hellcats.

Filled with unforgettable songs and a truly unique and fresh story, Cry-Baby, Allison and Baltimore's energetic juvenile delinquents will dance their way right into your heart!

Cinderella Screen copy

The timeless enchantment of a magical fairy tale is reborn with the Rodgers & Hammerstein hallmarks of originality, charm and elegance. Originally presented on television in 1957 starring Julie Andrews, Rodgers & Hammerstein's CINDERELLA was the most widely viewed program in the history of the medium. Its recreation in 1965 starring Lesley Ann Warren was no less successful in transporting a new generation to the miraculous kingdom of dreams-come-true, and so was a second remake in 1997, which starred Brandy as Cinderella and Whitney Houston as her Fairy Godmother. As adapted for the stage, with great warmth and more than a touch of hilarity, the hearts of children and adults alike still soar when the slipper fits.
In this specially created G2K version, all the beloved songs and familiar characters are present and accounted for. However, the entire script has been condensed to better suit young attention spans, and the plot has been slightly altered so as to highlight some important lessons that exist in this timeless tale.

"Robin Rotela is an excellent voice teacher who knows how to balance the technical with the artistic. She not only has been successful at teaching my daughter the musical skills needed to be a better singer, she also has an excellent ear for the artistic nuances that make the most of my daughter's technical improvements. But perhaps best of all,she does an excellent job of working with my daughter to find music that notonly works as a teaching tool but also keeps my daughter excited to sing."

"After many years of singing professionally, in only a handful of lessons with Robin, my voice has opened up and I have reached a new level of confidence in my instrument. Working with Robin has allowed me to explore new vocal possibilities and has renewed my passion for singing."

"My 14 year old son had the good fortune to take private voice lessons from Robin Rotela for over two years. Robin prepared him for numerous auditions and plays where the vocal work has been quite complex. We saw tremendous growth vocally as a direct result of the work Robin did with him. She is dedicated to helping her students learn, improve and excel vocally in a relaxed and fun atmosphere."
